چکیده

New variants of algebraic ctitious domain method are proposed for solution of the 3D Helmholtz and Maxwell equations in unbounded domains with the Sommerfeld radiation condition at innnity. They are based on: the use of an innnite uniform Cartesian mesh (maybe, locally tted to an obstacle) for nite-diierence or nite-element approximation; nonsymmetric version of ctitious domain method for solution of a resulting mesh system; calculation of the partial solution during the iterative process via summation of mesh Green functions with corresponding weights, using a fast algorithm; a special way of construction of the approximate mesh Green function satisfying the radiation condition. New ways of optimization of the ctitious domain method are also proposed. Results of numerical experiments are presented. A Fictitious Domain Method with Mixed Finite Elements for Elastodynamics

We consider in this paper the wave scattering problem by an object with Neumann boundary conditions in an anisotropic elastic body. To obtain an efficient numerical method (permitting the use of regular grids) we follow a fictitious domain approach coupled with a first order velocity stress formulation for elastodynamics. We first observe that the method does not always converge when the Qdiv 1...

An adaptive perfectly matched layer technique for 3-D time-harmonic electromagnetic scattering problems

Abstract. An adaptive perfectly matched layer (PML) technique for solving the time harmonic electromagnetic scattering problems is developed. The PML parameters such as the thickness of the layer and the fictitious medium property are determined through sharp a posteriori error estimates. Combined with the adaptive finite element method, the adaptive PML technique provides a complete numerical ...

A One-Field Energy-conserving Monolithic Fictitious Domain Method for Fluid-Structure Interactions

In this article, we analyze and numerically assess a new fictitious domain method for fluid-structure interactions in two and three dimensions. The distinguishing feature of the proposed method is that it only solves for one velocity field for the whole fluid-structure domain; the interactions remain decoupled until solving the final linear algebraic equations. To achieve this the finite elemen...

Optimization of Fan Geometry for Urban Train Traction Motors using Coupled Numerical Electromagnetic and Thermal Analysis

One of the most important parameters in designing electrical motors is heat generation by the motor and the way it is dissipated. Temperature rising reduce efficiency and reliability of traction motors and leads to failure. In this paper, an urban train traction motor in a 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation has been investigated. Maxwell software for electromagnetic simulation and...
